The fall 2013 Stand Down for Veterans will be Oct. 5 at the Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., East Bremerton. The Kitsap County Veterans Program will sponsor the event with the City of Bremerton and the Kitsap Area Veterans Alliance.
Bill Sibbett will serve less than two months as a Port of Indianola commissioner before he turns the office over to his successor. Sibbett, a tug boat captain and commercial fisherman, was appointed to the District 3 commission seat Oct. 1 by Commissioners Jeff Henderson and Eric Cookson.
