Kitsap Mall looking for pictures of local military heroes

In celebration of Flag Day on June 14, Kitsap Mall wants to honor local military heroes, past and present, with a photo display in its Center Court.

Kitsap Mall is looking for photos to display of those who have or are currently serving in the Armed Forces.

To ensure that valuable photos are not lost, photos may be e-mailed to Angie.Pomeroy@Macerich.com or brought to the Kitsap Mall management office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday where they will be quickly scanned and returned.

Please include the name of the service member, service branch and dates of his or her service with the photo. Photos must be received no later than June 9.

Naval Undersea Museum recruiting youth volunteers

The Naval Undersea Museum is currently recruiting for its Youth Docent Volunteer Program.

The program offers young people work experience in a museum. Students work five hours a day, three days a week during the busy summer months. Teens must be between the ages of 13-17 to participate. They will serve as educational aides and curatorial assistants. They will research, design and build an exhibit. Students also will design, build and test an underwater remotely operated vehicle.
