Let the voters decide about mayor’s pay raise

This is a sorry time (for Port Orchard Mayor Lary Coppola) to be requesting a raise three times his current salary, when people are being laid off and losing their homes.

What has he done since he’s been in office? One does not agree to a certain income, then demand three times more to prove how good a job they are going to do.

He needs to prove that he is worthy of the raise first.

The only thing Coppola has proven is that he is hungry for more money rather than being a true public servant.

If he feels that the position he ran for is too time-consuming, then he should resign and let someone better qualified be mayor.

The people of Port Orchard should decide whether they want a full-time mayor and what his salary should be.

Let this come to a vote and let the citizens of Port Orchard decide.
