Boorish behavior ruined ‘Fiddler’ for me

Boorish behavior

ruined ‘Fiddler’

Recently, my husband and I enjoyed an excellent performance of “Fiddler on the Roof” at the Western Washington Center for the Arts in Port Orchard.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind theatre-goers, both live and cinema, to remember a few things:

1. You should not, under any circumstances, sing along with the cast unless it is billed as a sing along production (this “Fiddler” is not).

2. If you must suck on a piece of hard candy, please do it with your mouth closed.

3. Never, ever, kick the seat in front of you.

4.Do not wear perfume of any kind or strength.

There are way too many people out there who react adversely to those kinds of things and it is worse in a close situation like a theatre seating.

My evening at WWCA was nearly ruined by the boorish behavior of the patron seated next to me (not my husband) who committed the first two infractions during the show.

Please, next time stay home, pop in a DVD and sing along to your heart’s content and allow the rest of us to enjoy the show.
