PORT ORCHARD — For the second week in a row, Sheriff Gary Simpson and the Kitsap County Deputy Sheriff’s Guild will open the doors to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office for public tours.
Members of the public are invited between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 5, to visit with patrol deputies, detectives and corrections officers, walk through workspaces and take a guided tour of the Kitsap County Jail, view static displays including the Washington State Patrol Bomb Disposal Team vehicle, see aerial law enforcement sUAS drone demonstrations, climb into a SWAT vehicle, and more.
Interior guided tours of the sheriff’s office and the Kitsap County Jail will be done in groups of 10, departing periodically from the sheriff’s office main entrance on Division Street.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and Kitsap County Jail are at 614 Division St. in Port Orchard at the courthouse campus. All activities will take place on Division Street in front of the sheriff’s office.
This is the second of three open-house events. The first was held April 28 at the Silverdale patrol precinct. The third open house will take place between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following Saturday, May 12, 11 a.m at the sheriff’s north office, 26076 Illinois Ave. NE, in Kingston.
