U.S. Military All-Star Team Cancels Games

Citing financial reasons, the U.S. Military All-Star Team has cancelled its much-anticipated games in Kitsap this week.

“Dealing with non-profit organizations like this can be tricky”, said BlueJackets co-owner Dean Reynolds.

“You have to rely on things that you really have no control over for the events to take place. We are disappointed in their decision to bypass Kitsap County but wish them well and hope the situation resolves itself so they can continue with their program.”

The All-Star Team was scheduled to face the BlueJackets on the 16th, the West Coast Guns on the 17th and the Thurston County Senators on the 18th. Each of those games has been cancelled.

The BlueJackets instead will host an exhibition game against the Lacey Saints on June 16 and the West Coast Guns will take on the Saints on June 17 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, both featuring 6:35 start times. In an effort to continue their support of the military, the BlueJackets will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Navy Relief charity.

Fans expecting to see the Military All-Star team can request a full refund of their ticket price.

The BlueJackets continue the 2015 West Coast League season on Thursday against the Medford Rogues. Tickets are available on BlueJacketBaseball.com/tickets.
