National Night Out draws a crowd

A little one waits to be served popcorn at National Night Out on Tuesday. The event is free and open to the public every year.

Citizens, law enforcement agencies, community groups, businesses, youth organizations and local, state and federal officials from more than 16,200 communities in all 50 states, U. S. territories, Canadian cities and U. S. Armed Forces installations worldwide, joined together for National Night Out earlier this week.

The local event was held at the Haselwood Family YMCA in Silverdale to promote safety and community awareness about crime prevention.
