After building a 4-2 halftime lead, Klahowya’s lacrosse team allowed seven second-half goals on the road against the Lions of Tacoma in a 9-6 loss Thursday.

The Eagles (1-2) got a goal from Danny Zimny, who finished with four goals and an assist, just 12 seconds into the game to go ahead 1-0. That lead ballooned to 4-1 midway through the second quarter thanks to two more Zimny goals and a Neil Sell score before Tacoma cut it to 4-2 at halftime.

The Lions evened the score 4-4 in the third and scored five goals in the fourth, while the Eagles managed just two scores over that span.

KSS goalie Chad Reeder tallied 20 saves on 29 shots. Tacoma’s Travis Jones notched seven saves on just 13 Eagle shots. Chris McGuire rounded out Klahowya’s scoring with one goal.

With spring break this week, the Eagles don’t play again until April 9, when they face Port Angeles at Roosevelt Elementary School.
