Drag racing season opens at Bremerton Raceway

Engines whined and the smell of gasoline and burning rubber were in the air Friday afternoon as Handlers Racing Association opened its 50th season of drag racing at the Bremerton Raceway, adjacent to the Bremerton National Airport in South Kitsap.

Saturday will be a test and tune event for all interested participants in the Truck Town Junior Dragster Series. Gates open at 8 a.m. and racing begins at 9. Junior dragsters begin time trials at noon.

Tech cards are $5. Gates will close at 9 p.m.
