KCAA hosting event for local farmers, consumers and co-ops

BREMERTON — The Kitsap Community and Agricultural Alliance (KCAA) will host a special community appreciation event from 1-5 p.m. June 29, at the Bremerton Boys and Girls Club, 3102 Wheaton Way.

The event will bring together local food growers, consumers and co-ops to discuss the importance of strengthening our local food system, purchaser and producer relationships, and the what the future of food on the Peninsula can look like.

Derek Christensen, produce manager at Port Townsend Food Co-op, will be the key presenter.

Jeff Allen, Kitsap Community Food Co-op president and Stuart Boyle, Kitsap Poultry Growers Co-op president, along with local farmer will hold a panel discussion.

Light refreshments will be served.
