Sefton is a treasure of information about our nearshore world

I enjoyed reading Nancy Sefton’s Nov. 10 column about our local waters.

I’d like to read more columns by Nancy. She is a local treasure of information about our nearshore world. I think this is very important because our marine and nearshore environments are marginalized in our media — especially in light of how much of our planet is water, and that Kitsap in particular has an unusually large amount of coastline and is inexorably linked to Puget Sound. We certainly need more nearshore literacy in our culture.

Second, Nancy is a good writer and also has a wealth of relevant photos and videos that could be associated with her column. That might be a little challenging for the newsprint version, but maybe a challenge like that will help Sound Publishing up their game when it comes to coupling compelling media with articles.
