PASCO — The only cross country runner competing in the 2A Championships from the North Kitsap School District finished in the middle of the pack Nov. 8.

Kingston junior Alex Winn took 70th out of 141 runners in the boys’ race. Winn finished the 3.1-mile run in 17 minutes 15.12 seconds.

East Valley’s Chad Stevens won the 2A Championship by finishing in 15:27.30, ahead of Mark Morris’ Aaron Brumbaugh (15:30.18).

Winn’s time wasn’t his best of the season, but he wasn’t too far off. Winn’s best 3.1-mile time was during a meet at Kingston High School Oct. 1, where he finished in 17 minutes.
