Poulsbo lowers price on old police station

Hoping to attract more buyers, the City of Poulsbo has lowered the price on its vacant police station. "We want to move that property," Mayor Becky Erickson said. "Having that sit vacant isn't doing the city any good and it's not doing downtown any good. We want to get it sold and get a new building in there."

POULSBO — Hoping to attract more buyers, the City of Poulsbo has lowered the price on its vacant police station.

“We want to move that property,” Mayor Becky Erickson said. “Having that sit vacant isn’t doing the city any good and it’s not doing downtown any good. We want to get it sold and get a new building in there.”

The former police station, located at 367 NE Hostmark St., will now be listed at $950,000. It’s an approximately 9.5 percent drop from its old price at $1,050,000, according to Erickson.

The 24,829-square-foot property overlooks Liberty Bay and has a 3,800-square-foot building on it, with parking. It has been on the market for nearly three years, ever since the new city hall was completed on Moe Street and the police department was moved into the new city headquarters.

Erickson said interested buyers have asked about the property, but queries have yielded no offers.

“What we are trying to do is spur more interest in downtown,” Erickson said.
