It’s not too late to catch the North Kitsap lacrosse team in action. The team was originally scheduled to end its season April 28 at home against Vashon. A few more games were added, with the final scheduled game, as of now, at 7:30 p.m. May 11 at Strawberry Field. NK (3-8 conference) hosts Ballard (1-8-0).
The North Kitsap Vikings won five Olympic League titles: baseball, boys soccer, boys track, girls tennis, and girls track. The next step on the road to state begins May 9, when several district tournaments begin.

On May 4 at North Kitsap, Port Angeles scored four runs in the sixth inning to take a one-run lead over the Vikings, and it suddenly became the Roughriders’ game to lose. But PA pitcher Ryan Rodocker allowed the Vikings to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth and North Kitsap’s Tyler Trainer scored the winning run on consecutive wild pitches in the bottom of the seventh to eke out a 6-5 win.
Lynden was leading 2-1 and held North Kitsap scoreless for two innings May 2 in Poulsbo. Then, the Vikings unleashed a four-run barrage in the bottom of the sixth and relief pitcher Joey Regan held Lynden scoreless in the top of the seventh to seal the win and improve the Vikings’ record to 8-2, 14-3 and put them in a tie for the Olympic League title.
