It’s on to districts: Baseball begins May 9 at Kitsap County Fairgrounds | District schedules

The North Kitsap Vikings won five Olympic League titles: baseball, boys soccer, boys track, girls tennis, and girls track. The next step on the road to state begins May 9, when several district tournaments begin.

POULSBO — The North Kitsap Vikings won five Olympic League spring sports titles: baseball, boys soccer, boys track, girls tennis, and girls track.

The Kingston Buccaneers finished second in league in boys soccer and girls tennis.

The next step on the road to state begins May 9, when several district tournaments begin.

Here’s the schedule.

District 2/3 2A Baseball Tournament: North Kitsap meets Franklin Pierce 1 p.m. May 9 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. The winner plays the winner of the Tyee-River Ridge game later in the day at 7 p.m. The winner of that game advances to the semifinal game at 10 a.m. May 16 at the fairgrounds. The championship game will be later that day.

The loser of the North Kitsap-Franklin Pierce game plays a loser-out game at 4 p.m. May 9 at the fairgrounds. The winner goes on to play at Franklin Pierce on May 13 and a chance at fifth or sixth.

Olympic League Golf Tournament: 11:30 a.m. May 12, at 7 Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course in Sequim. The top eight boys will gain automatic berths to the state tournament. The top seven girls will gain automatic berths to the state tournament. Boys finishing in places 9-19 will qualify for the district tournament at Gold Mountain on May 19. Girls finishing in places 8-16 will qualify for the district tournament at Gold Mountain on May 19.

District 2/3 2A Boys Soccer Tournament: North Kitsap meets Tyee at 7 p.m. May 14 at North Kitsap. Kingston meets either King County League’s No. 2 seed or South Puget Sound League’s No. 4 seed at 5 p.m. May 14 at North Kitsap.

Olympic League 2A Girls Tennis Tournament: May 12 and 14 at North Kitsap. Participating teams: Bremerton, Kingston, North Kitsap, North Mason, Olympic, Port Angeles, Sequim.

Olympic League 2A League Meet: May 9 at North Kitsap High School. First event begins at 10 a.m. 2A Sub District Meet May 16 at Bremerton. Top 5 from Olympic League Subs go to West Central District III 1A-2A Track & Field Championships on May 22 and 23 at North Mason High School’s Phil Pugh Stadium.
