Bainbridge

Coaches: Krista Pal

Key returners: Seniors Kathryn Houseman, Uma Pal and Emma Atchinson, and juniors Sara Kriegh, Piper Majors and Maya Geddes

Outlook: The girls’ swim team returned from state last season with bronze medals. Four of their top five swimmers return with a vengeance and much depth around them. The Spartan swimmers should be having another season where the team finishes on the podium at state.

Water Polo

Coach: Kristin Gellert

Key players: Seniors Micah Webber. Michael Bannister and Finn Miller and junior RJ Rossart

Outlook: The only county team with a girls water polo team, Gellert returns a senior-heavy squad after falling short of a back-to-back title. However, the Spartans should still be considered one of the best in the state with their high-powered offense and experienced goaltending.

Schedule: Sept. 2, Jamboree; Sept. 15, Kennedy Catholic; Sept. 19 at Newport; Sept. 21 at Curtis; Sept. 28 at Roosevelt; Sept. 30, Interlake; Oct. 3 at Mercer Island; Oct. 10 at Kennedy Catholic; Oct. 14-15, Varsity PSP Invite; Oct. 17, Newport; Oct. 19, Curtis; Oct. 24 at Interlake; Oct. 26 at Mercer Island; Oct. 31, Roosevelt; Nov. 9-11, State Championships

North Kitsap

Coach: Greg Braun

Key returners: Senior Tiffany Le and sophomore Audrey Crossgrove

Outlook: North Kitsap finished eighth in the state last but lost most of its state swimmers. However, Braun has tons of depth and can develop his swimmers well. The Vikings may not place as high in state but they can be a tough team to face in the league and along the way.

Kingston

Coach: Mark VanHuis

Key Returner: Senior Lilia Manges

Outlook: Kingston’s squad is typically smaller than its competitors. However, the Bucs are mighty, posting strong times and placing at state. Mages returns as the lone state swimmer and will lead the Bucs to a strong finish at state.

Olympic

Coach: Paul Henderson

Key returners: Junior Jasmyn Costello

Outlook: Olympic struggled to keep its swimmers afloat during the postseason. However, nearly the entire squad were underclassmen and can make more damage in the next few years.

Bremerton

Coach: Andrea Cochran

Key returners: Junior Gabbie Patti

Outlook: The Knights did not have much success as a team. However, Patti was debatably the best swimmer in the county, capturing a gold and silver medal at state. She will look to repeat her success and hopefully bring another Knight with her to the state competition.

Schedule: Sept. 13, at North Kitsap; Sept. 20, 2:30 p.m., East Jefferson; Sept. 27, at Sequim; Sept. 29, 3 p.m. at Port Angeles; Oct. 6, Bainbridge; Oct. 11, Olympic; Oct. 18, at Kingston; Oct. 20, 3 p.m., Klahowya

Central Kitsap

Coach: Whitney Dodd

Key returners: Juniors Haley Borja, Aziza Meyer and Ava Day

Outlook: After finishing seventh at state, three of four members of the Central Kitsap’s relay team return. In addition, a few younger swimmers will make a splash for the Cougars and keep them in contention for a top-10 finish at state.

Schedule: Sept. 7, at Peninsula; Sept. 14, at North Thurston; Sept. 21, Gig Harbor; Sept. 28, River Ridge; Oct. 5, at Timberline; Oct. 19, Capital

South Kitsap

Coach: Nicole Miller

Key returners: Senior Nina Mertz

Outlook: Mertz returns as the lone state swimmer, placing ninth in the 100-yard butterfly. If the Wolves can find a few more swimmers that can compete at state, they can see themselves finish top-20 this season.

Schedule: Sept. 12, Emerald Ridge; Sept. 19, Sumner; Sept. 21, Puyallup; Sept. 28, at Curtis; Oct. 3, at Graham-Kapowsin; Oct. 10, Rogers

Klahowya

Coach: Danielle Harding-Hanson

Key returners: Senior Kaiya Pasternak and juniors Grace Corbin, Rory DeCourval and Addison Leaf

Outlook: Klahowya was carried by its senior duo last season, finishing 16th at state. The rest of the squad lacked experience and depth.

Schedule: Sept. 27, East Jefferson; Sept. 29, 3 p.m., Sequim; Oct. 4, at Olympic; Oct. 6, at Kingston; Oct. 11, North Kitsap; Oct. 18, Bainbridge; Oct. 20, at Bremerton; Oct. 25, 3 p.m., Olympic League Championships
