Mr. Beck was born on March 21, 1929, in Butler, N.J. to August and Dorothy (Tintle) Beck.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a radio technician overseas in Asia between 1946 and 1949. He married Doris Chapman in 1964 in Long Beach, Calif. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Mr. Beck served as the superintendent of equipment cleaners and engine pump operators and reactivation manager of the USS Missouri (1986) at Long Beach Naval Shipyard for 25 years before retiring in 1989. Mr.Beck was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Elks and enjoyed camping, traveling and bowling.

Mr. Beck is survived by his son Timothy (Georgianna) Beck of Port Orchard; daughters Bobby (Ben) Kozlovsky of Austin, Texas, Denise (Fred) Wilkenson of Eagle Point, Ore., Sandra Fogarty of Cortez, Colo., Linda Nelson of Huntington Beach, Calif. and Cindy Escalante of Cypress, Calif.; 13 brothers and their spouses or companions; three sisters and their spouses or companions; and 16 grandchildren.
