Reinvent yourself at the library | Check It Out | January

Our monthly theme for January is: A New Year, A New You. Libraries are full of information that can help you reinvent yourself. Kingston’s library has do-it-yourself materials, exercise DVDs, books that can help you study for the SAT, GRE, learn a language, get a job … the possibilities are endless.

The preschool story times for children ages 3 to 6 are beginning again at 10:30 am. on Wednesdays. Join our children’s librarian, Tomi Whalen, for stories, music, and crafts on Jan. 6, 13, 20, and 27. Siblings are also welcome

Kingston Library Book Group will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6 to discuss “The Soloist” by Steve Lopez. This New York Times bestseller is about a lost dream, an unlikely friendship and the redemptive power of music.

At 10 a.m., Jan. 12, the Kingston Friends of the Library will have its regular meeting in the Indianola Room. They will be planning their big book sale for Jan. 23 in the Kingston Room. The sale begins at 10 a.m.; 9 a.m. for members. Proceeds help our library in so many ways and we appreciate them very much!

The Classic Book Group will meet 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19. The book to be discussed in January will be determined at the December meeting. We should have a list for the next few months available then.

We are thrilled to announce that Richard Lemieux, author of “Breakfast at Sally’s,” will be speaking in Kingston on Jan. 25. The book tells the story of his descent into homelessness, and his inspirational journey to a new life.

We are still determining the location of his talk, but it promises to be powerful. Please come and Check It Out.
