POULSBO — Poulsbo Fire Department officials have something to cheer about after yesterday’s vote, which passed their proposed levy lid lift by a 55 percent margin.

Voters decided to allow an increase from 88 cents per $1,000 of assessed value to $1.29 per $1,000. The additional income will allow Fire District 18 to hire more employees, update their equipment and staff Station 72, the Surfrest Station.
