Nearly 10,000 Port Orchard customers without power Wednesday morning

Nearly 10,000 customers in the Port Orchard area are without power this Wednesday morning, according to Puget Sound Energy.

Nearly 10,000 customers in the Port Orchard area are without power this Wednesday morning, according to Puget Sound Energy. The outages are as a result of a powerful wind and rain storm that swept though the Puget Sound region yesterday morning and afternoon.

About 1,450 customers near Bethel Road and Salmonberry are without power this morning, according to Puget Sound Energy. Another two customers near Southworth also don’t have electricity due to downed power lines.

PSE estimates the customers near Bethel will have their power restored by 10 a.m. The Southworth power will return by 11 a.m., the agency estimates.

Winds and rain are expected to peak later in the today and then taper off by mid-afternoon, according to weather forecasters.
