Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives are looking for two transient suspects, a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, now wanted in connection with a burglary and firearm offense at a residence in the 3500 block of Arsenal Way in Navy Yard City.

Kitsap County Central Communications (Cencom 9-1-1) dispatched a report of a burglary with gunshots fired at around 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11. Responding patrol deputies contacted a 20-year-old woman at the residence who said that three persons forced their way into the house, threatened her and shot her dog.

A pit bull dog was found injured in the woman’s bedroom. The dog appeared to have sustained two gunshot wounds to its left flank. Kitsap Animal Rescue responded, took custody of the dog, and transported it to a local emergency veterinary clinic.

The woman stated that the incident was related to remarks and threats made on social media. Although the investigation is in its initial stages, deputies report that the female victim heard knocking at her door. She told deputies that she recognized the voice of the 21-year-old female suspect. The victim retreated upstairs to her bedroom when she heard people entering the residence through an open window.

The victim said she placed a mattress in front of the door frame as the bedroom door was broken. After a brief exchange of words, the female suspect kicked down the mattress and started entering the bedroom. The pit bull attacked the female suspect and the male suspect then fired two shots at the dog. The three suspects fled the house and drove off.

Detectives have identified the two transient suspects as Justis Devlin Wilson, 20, and Jaklyn Elizabeth Pinger, age 21. Last known addresses for both are in Bremerton, although Pinger also has connections to Belfair Mason County. Wilson is 5’7″ and 120 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Pinger is 5’5″ and 165 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Sheriff’s detectives have developed probable cause to arrest Wilson for burglary in the first degree and unlawful possession of a firearm. Wilson is a convicted felon, prohibited by law from being in possession of a firearm. Likewise, probable cause was developed for the arrest of Pinger for burglary in the first degree. Detectives are still determining the identity of the third person.

Persons with information about this incident or the whereabouts of Wilson or Pinger are asked to contact Detective Gerald Swayze at 360-337-4479, or the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, via Cencom, at 360-308-5400.
