Kid entrepreneurs welcome at the Market | Farmers Market Update

We’ve had long, pleasant Saturdays at the Kingston Farmers Market.

We’ve had long, pleasant Saturdays at the Kingston Farmers Market. The local produce is plentiful this time of year — cucumbers, onions, broccoli, beans, beets, carrots, potatoes, blackberries, squash, salad greens, flowers, herbs and ripe soft fruit from just across the Cascades. Your suppers can be rounded out with pork, chicken and eggs. Your tasty hors d’oeuvres? Bakery goodies, chocolate, cheese, and nuts. We think our vendors are the best!

Upcoming in August:

Just a few more weeks for Kingston Friends of the Library’s popular story time from 11 a.m. to noon, through Aug. 10.

EBT/SNAP (popularly called the Food Stamp and Senior Nutrition Program) is now available! Come to the market booth for your token exchange.

August Music at the Market features familiar fun favorites, a few future favorites and some split sets to keep things finger-snapping and feelin’ good.
— Aug. 3: Jim Skewes (fingerstyle guitar, bossa, ballads).
— Aug. 10: Gerry Sherman (barrelhouse blues).
— Aug. 17: Kel Schmitz. (North Dakota Lonesome).
— Aug. 24: Hep Replacements (rock of ages).
— Aug. 31: Jim Bybee (fingerstyle guitar-looping virtuoso).

Keeping the Kingston in the Kingston Farmers Market
Kingston Farmers Market hoodies are in stock.

“Simple Guidelines for Using the Market Community Booth” are on the website. We want more of Kingston’s 25-plus community groups and organizations to take advantage of the market as a neighborhood meeting spot and day in the sun.

Kids and Juniors at the Market: Children up to age 12 pay only $1 to have a booth to sell their hand-made or homegrown wares at the market. Juniors age 12-17 pay only $10. No annual membership fee is required for either.

For more information, visit the market website at www.KingstonFarmersMarket.com, or call Clint Dudley, market manager, at (360) 297-7683. See you at the market!
