HANSVILLE — The wheels are turning for the annual Hansville Coaster Games Aug. 24.

This year, the games will support the Greater Hansville Community Center’s scholarship programs. Money from raffle tickets, which can be purchased during the event, will go to the scholarship programs.

The games are held on Benchmark Avenue. The event begins at 2 p.m. The racing begins around 2:30 p.m.

In the Hansville Coaster Games, anyone interested can build a homemade coaster car and race it against other participants. Races are one-on-one, with the winner being the person with the fastest time.

There are six different “classes” for various ages. People age 6 and older are welcome to participate.

Registration is $15 per racer. Everyone receives a T-shirt and copy of “The Rules.”

This year’s sponsors include Benchmark Tire and Automotive, The Grub Hut, Nesbit Properties of Edmonds and Hansville, and Yank-A-Part.

There’s still time to build a coaster car. For more information on the rules for cars and the race, visit www.hansville.org and scroll down to the Hansville Coaster Games section.
