People can complain all they want about their politicians, but when it comes to elections they tend to vote them back in.
The Aug. 2 primary was no exception.
When incumbents were involved, all 10 received the most votes. Only two are Republicans. Another from the GOP is leading for an open seat.
As more ballots were counted after Election Day, the only really close race is for state Representative 1 in the 26th Legislative District. Adison Richard’s lead over Spencer Hutchins is now less than 500 votes.
Kitsap County has 185,698 registered voters in 219 precincts. Turnout so far is 35.5% with 64,038 ballots tabulated. About 4,000 more ballots will be counted before the vote will be finalized Aug. 16.
The top two in each race advance to the general election Nov. 8.
