A 31-year-old Bremerton man was in Kitsap County Superior Court May 27 facing two charges.
Bail was $75,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for burglary and five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for possession of stolen property.
Court papers say Bremerton police responded to a report of a felon being spotted in the 4900 block of Driftwood Street. An officer knocked on the door and rang the doorbell for 20 minutes. A public address system was used to try to get the suspect to surrender. After a warrant was obtained to enter, a K9 was brought in.
Two women came out, but one said her baby was still inside, so she retrieved it. K9 Knox barked at a locked bedroom door. Four people walked out, but the felon was still hiding. He was found under a pink, wooden couch.
Earlier in his shift, an officer saw video of a vehicle prowl. That suspect matched the description of this one. Also, that suspect was wearing a teal green Philadelphia Eagles knit cap. That was found under the pink couch.
The suspect also was arrested in another case. Shown a photo of a vehicle, he said he’d never seen it. But he was in possession of a credit card of the owner of the stolen vehicle.
Finally, he also was charged in another case. Security video shows him using a garage door opener to get inside and steal some items.
Bail $400K for man with child pornography
Bail was set at $400,000 in Superior Court May 30 for a Poulsbo man facing three charges of possessing sexually explicit depictions of minors.
The 23-year-old faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine on each charge.
Kitsap deputies arrested the man May 29 at 7:15 a.m. in the 29000 block of Beach Drive NE in Poulsbo. The investigation started Nov. 16, 2024 when Bainbridge Island police received a cyber tip. Photos of genitals were seen. There were also sexually explicit cartoons.
Boys 9, 10 shoot off stolen weapon
A 23-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court May 30 charged with possession of a stolen firearm and reckless endangerment.
Bail was $50,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine on the first charge and a year in jail and a $5,000 fine on the second.
Court papers say Bremerton police made the arrest at 9:23 p.m. May 29 in the 1500 block on Spruce Avenue. Boys ages 9 and 10 shot off guns in a treed area. They found the gun at one of their residences. It was his stepdad’s and was stolen out of Ohio. He at first lied about the gun but then confessed. In text messages the seller called it a “ghost gun” and told the suspect “don’t get caught from the police.” The gun is kept loaded on the top shelf of a closet.
Man goes 70 in 25 mph zone arrested
A 19-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court May 27 charged with driving up to 70 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone.
He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for attempting to elude and a year in jail and a $5,000 fine for driving under the influence.
Court papers say the State Patrol on Sept. 5, 2023 at 10 p.m. tried to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off. Due to the winding and narrow road the pursuit was halted. Soon after the suspect vehicle was involved in a collision, as the doors were open and airbags deployed.
A man with a blue jacket and yellow hoodie escaped on foot. An officer followed, but stopped when the suspect jumped a fence. The officer returned to the vehicle and a woman was yelling for help. Two women were crying as an unresponsive man was in the back seat, with blood coming out of his mouth. He was not wearing a seatbelt and had taken a significant amount of Xanax, his girlfriend said.
The injured were taken to medical facilities. The driver returned, concerned about his girlfriend and was arrested. He used racially charged expletives toward officers and hospital staff and had to be restrained to get a blood draw. “You ain’t gonna find nothin’ except coke (cocaine) and THC (marijuana),” he said.
Man hurts woman; ‘goose egg’ on head
A 24-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court May 27 charged with two crimes.
He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for assault and five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for unlawful imprisonment.
Court documents say Kitsap deputies arrested the man at 10:44 a.m. May 23 at Whittle Lane W. A caller said her sister was being assaulted by her boyfriend. The victim had a large “goose egg” on her forehead and other injuries. The witness said she saw the suspect hitting and choking the victim.
The victim said she was head-butted probably five times. She had told him she was going to leave him, and he said it was her fault he was the way he was. She texted for help, and as it was on its way agreed with him it was her fault. He tried to take her phone, and she threw it to get him away then ran out of the house to get a ride with a friend.
Officer’s dash cam ID’s suspect via tattoos
A 37-year-old Bremerton man charged with stealing a motorcycle was in Superior Court May 27, identified by his tattoos via an officer’s dash cam.
He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Bail was $50,000.
Court records say Bremerton police made the arrest at noon May 25 in the 600 block of Montgomery Avenue. The officer saw someone on the motorcycle with no license plate while responding to another call. He later located the bike. Two men were sitting on a curb 4 feet away. Both said they didn’t know anything about it. The gas tank lock and ignition area were drilled out on the bike.
The officer discovered it was stolen out of Port Orchard. He checked his dash camera and saw a man with numerous tattoos on his lower arms. One of the men on the curb had the same tattoos so an arrest was made. The motorcycle was returned to its owner.
Man steals purple wallet from former girlfriend
A 26-year-old Silverdale man was in Superior Court May 28 facing three charges after stealing a purple wallet from his ex-girlfriend.
He could get a maximum of up to 10 years and a $20,000 fine for burglary, five years and a $10,000 fine for both theft and possession of stolen property.
Court papers say Kitsap deputies arrested the man May 27 at 8:15 p.m. at Caymans Place NE in Bremerton. A woman noticed her purple Victoria Secret wallet and two vehicle keys were missing. GPS research showed the woman was there at the time. The couple that lives there said they heard noises in the basement. When they checked a shadowy figure was seen running out the door.
On another day the suspect was caught on security camera near the basement door. The male resident was given a key by the suspect that opened a car. Inside that vehicle was the distinct wallet. The suspect and victim had dated for a few years but broke up months ago. The victim said she’s having “pretty bad anxiety” since the suspect showed up there. She was granted a stalking order.
Woman screams; man arrested for assault
A 58-year-old Port Orchard man was in Superior Court May 29 on a warrant from 19 days ago for second- and fourth-degree assault.
He faces 10 years and a $20,000 fine on the first charge and one year and a $5,000 fine on the second. Bail was $100,000.
Court documents show Kitsap deputies were told by a witness in the 13000 block of Glenwood Road SW in Port Orchard that he heard a woman screaming from an RV. The suspect pinned the victim with his hands around her neck. The two live in the RV. The witness opened the door and told him to stop. The suspect then pushed him in the chest before leaving.
Too many mushrooms
A 41-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court May 27 charged with intent to deliver or manufacture methamphetamines.
Bail was $50,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a fine of from $1,000 to $25,000 depending on the amount of drugs involved.
Court documents show Bremerton police made the arrest at 8:15 a.m. May 25 in the 500 block of 12th Street. Police found a large quantity of fentanyl, mushrooms, meth and other drugs in a residence.
Two men and a woman were inside. One of the men had 151.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. The average dose is 1.5 grams, meaning there were 100 individual doses, which is much more than the typical user would possess if not a dealer.
Beauty products stolen
A 30-year-old Auburn man was in Superior Court May 30 facing a charge of organized retail theft.
He faces a maximum prison sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine on that charge. He also violated a court order so he faces a year in jail and a $5,000 fine on that charge.
Court papers say Kitsap deputies responded Nov. 21, 2024 at 11:19 a.m. to Ulta Beauty at 11066 Pacific Crest Place NW in Silverdale. A man with a fanny pack and a woman with a hot pink hoodie stole $1,274 in merchandise.
Thanks to video officers were able to identify the suspects.
