High winds forecasted in North Kitsap

POULSBO — The National Weather Service is forecasting rain and high winds late Dec. 3 in North Kitsap. Wind gusts could top 40 mph in many areas.

Severe weather shelters will be open at Salvation Army, 832 Sixth St. in Bremerton and at Kingston Community Center, 1212 NE Highway 104 in Kingston.

Hansville: Rain likely before 10 p.m. and then a chance of showers after. Wind 31-36 mph, decreasing to 17-22 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 46 mph.

Kingston: Rain before 10 p.m. and then a chance of showers after. Wind 28-33 mph, decreasing to 20-25 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.

Port Gamble: Rain before 10 p.m. and then a chance of showers after 10 p.m. Wind 27-32 mph, decreasing to 14-19 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph.

Poulsbo: Rain before 10 p.m. and then a chance of showers after. Wind 24-29 mph in the early evening, decreasing to 16-21 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph.

Suquamish: Rain before 10 p.m. and then a chance of showers after. Wind 29-34 mph in the early evening, decreasing 18-23 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as 45 mph.
