Fireworks will light up the night sky in Central and South Kitsap on back-to-back weekends in celebration of Independence Day.
Bremerton kicks off the festivities with the return of the Bridge Blast June 29, the peak event of the weekend-long Festival at the Bremerton Boardwalk. Families can enjoy live music and check out vendors and enjoy food and drinks at the boardwalk and the more-relaxed Evergreen Rotary Park.
Blastoff time is 10:15 p.m. The boardwalk and park have been set as official viewing areas, but the show is known to be visible far beyond those bounds.
Fathoms O’ Fun will take the wheel the next week for a vendor show and the annual fireworks show over Sinclair Inlet July 6. Viewers have traditionally lined up along the waterfront of downtown Port Orchard to see the show, but it is also visible from downtown Bremerton.
Those looking to partake in a local celebration on the fourth of July can find such festivities in Manchester. The small community east of Port Orchard invites all comers to support local business while also enjoying what locals consider the shortest and cutest 4th of July parade at 1 p.m.
Also on the fourth, Jeep drivers will unite once again for the third annual Jeep Parade for Veterans in Port Orchard. Organizers are inviting any and all Jeep clubs to meet at BiMart on Mile Hill Drive at noon and decorate vehicles accordingly. The parade will start at 1:20 p.m. and will work its way through the Washington Veterans Home.
