Bremerton city council to talk about cabin lease

The council will meet in a study session at 5 p.m. Wednesday

Bremerton city council members will review a proposed lease agreement for the NAD Cabin with the NAD Guardhouse Cabin Foundation when they meet Wednesday.

The study session will being at 5 p.m. in council conference room 603 on the sixth floor of the Norm Dicks Building, 345 Sixth St. in Bremerton.

According to an agenda document, the cabin at NAD Park has been vacant since June. The city asked if there were groups interested in repairing the cabin in exchange for use of the cabin. A proposal was received from the NAD Guardhouse Cabin Foundation.

The foundation plans to repair the cabin in exchange for use of the building for activities and events, environmental and historical education and community meetings.

A five year lease is being proposed.

There are a number of appointments to city commissions also on the agenda for consideration.
