SR 3 accident

POULSBO — A Kingston man was involved in a two-car collision Saturday morning on State Route 3, near the Sherman Hill overpass.

Alan Lamoureux, 51, driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, and Tacoma resident William Franklin Mason, 24, driving a 1996 Nissan Sentra, were both headed northbound on SR 3 when Mason rear-ended Lamoureux shortly before 1 a.m. Jan. 15, according to a Washington State Patrol report.

This caused Lamoureux’s vehicle to rotate clockwise and strike the guardrail. Mason’s car entered the median and began to roll, coming to a rest in the southbound lanes on the center line.

Mason was transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton for injuries; Lamoureux was not injured. Both were wearing their seatbelts.

The accident is under investigation by the Washington State Patrol.

Poulsbo man injured during two-car crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Icy roads were a factor in a two-car collision Sunday morning on State Route 101, involving a Poulsbo man.

Andrew Goforth, 29, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pick up northbound on SR 101 when he lost control of his vehicle on a patch of ice and rolled off the road and into the eastbound shoulder, according to a Washington State Patrol report.

Gary Black, 40, of Orting, driving a 1986 Shoreline food service trailer, was about five minutes behind Goforth and slowed down when he came up on the collision scene. However, Black also lost control of his vehicle on a patch of ice and slid into the eastbound shoulder where the trailer landed on its side, on top of Goforth’s car.

Goforth and his passengers, Robert Ricketson and Robert Edgin, 27, both of Bremerton, were transported to Olympic Medical Center for injuries. Goforth and Ricketson were treated and released. It is unknown whether Edgin was treated and released. Black was treated on the scene. All four men were wearing their seatbelts.

SR 101 was closed in both directions for about an hour.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident.
