3rd man dies from crash into Bremerton building

A third person has died from an accident that occurred Aug. 5 in Bremerton when a vehicle smashed into a building.

The third man, a 26-year-old from Atlanta, died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man from New Jersey, is in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The two other occupants of the vehicle also died after a speeding vehicle went out of control and smashed into a building on Wheaton Way near Sheridan Road at 2 a.m.

The victims have been identified as: Alexander M. Ruiz, 21, of Vacaville, CA, and Touder Yang, 23, of Merced, CA. Cause of death for both is blunt force trauma to the head; manner of death is accident for both.

The initial investigation shows the vehicle going northbound when it crossed into oncoming lanes and lost control. The vehicle went airborne before striking the building, a Bremerton police news release says.

Collision investigators from Kitsap County and Bremerton police are investigating. They believe that alcohol and speed were factors.

The road was closed for almost six hours.
