Those parking signs defeat the purpose

When less fuel-efficient cars must park farther away from entrances, they burn more fuel than the efficient ones would. Hence, greater CO2 emissions by comparison — the very idea the signs apparently are intended to reduce.

Regarding the parking signs at Village Green Community Center:

Infuriating, yes. But sadly amusing too. To wit: When less fuel-efficient cars must park farther away from entrances, they burn more fuel than the efficient ones would. Hence, greater CO2 emissions by comparison — the very idea the signs apparently are intended to reduce.

I will continue to honor the signs in the breach, parking our 23-year-old Cadillac in those very spots when available so my 85-year-old wife has a shorter route to the library — and so our car emits less CO2.
