Our food drive was a rousing success

I want to send a special thank you to the Sedgwick Avenue Albertsons store and its patrons.

On Dec. 6, we were in front of the store for several hours collecting donations for the Souyh Kitsap Helpline. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the surrounding community during these uncertain economic times.

They opened up their hearts for those in need. This food collection began as a challenge to the youth of Evergreen Baptist Church to develop, plan and perform a community service project.

They heard that our local Helpline was in need of donations and wanted to help restock those shelves.

Our youth and the community are blessed by your support.

Thanks again to all who gave.
