MorMor Bistro celebrates five years of serving Poulsbo

It was in June of 2004 that Laura and I sold our home and left our jobs in Portland, Oregon and headed North on I-5 to relocate to my childhood home of Poulsbo.

I always felt a certain draw to Little Norway over the years and was excited by the chance to be a part of such a unique community.

Laura and I had met each other at the young age of 18 while attending the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Arizona and quickly became an inseparable restaurant duo.

After working our way up the West Coast in some amazing restaurants we had finally found a home for our dream restaurant in Poulsbo and MorMor Bistro & Bar was born. Over the last 5 years we have been enriched not only by the amazing culinary products of our area but by the people as well.

I can’t even count how many times people have walked up to me and told me that they went to high school with my grandmother or that they used to drive a school bus for my father. It is those little nuances that make being a third generation Poulsbo business owner such a magical experience.

Most touching of all came 3 years ago when Laura gave birth to our son Oen at just 27 weeks.

Out of state and at a mere 2 pounds, we will never forget all the kind support that poured our way from the close relationships that were forged with our precious guests.

Laura and I thank everyone in this community for your steadfast support over the last 5 years. Poulsbo has grown a lot in that period of time and the signs of growth continue to point skyward. Since the beginning we have been committed to supporting our local businesses and regional producers to meet our Northwest Regional concept.

Special thanks go out to our staff past and present, The Poulsbo Farmers Market, Peter & Anne at Farmhouse Organics, Key City Fish, The HDPA & Chamber of Commerce, The Poulsbo Historical Society, Poulsbo Compounding Pharmacy, our friends, families and all the fine souls brave enough to strengthen the growing wine industry here in the Puget Sound.

We could not be happier to be a part of this fine community and we look forward to serving you all for years to come.
