Volunteer Services, a nonprofit program of Catholic Community Services, would like to sincerely thank the Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton Area for the Community Grant Award of $500 on June 16.

Volunteer Services is designed to assist low-income elders and disabled adults stay in their own homes as long as it is safely possible. Volunteer Services provides assistance to those who cannot afford to pay for the kinds of services we provide. We are able to provide services at no charge due to the generosity of volunteers throughout Kitsap County.

With the generous $500 community grant, we were able to provide to several Bremerton women some much-needed safety modifications to their homes, which included a wheelchair ramp and new flooring for a bathroom, plus the installation of numerous grab bars to prevent falls in the shower area.

Thanks to the Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton Area, these women will be able to live safely in their own homes for a much longer period of time.
