Farmers Market extends its hours

The Poulsbo Farmers Market works very hard to listen to its customers and provide the type of market the community will shop at and enjoy.

The Poulsbo Farmers Market works very hard to listen to its customers and provide the type of market the community will shop at and enjoy.

In the past, several customers have told us that the market hours are too short for them to be able to do their weekly shopping.  The board discussed this and decided to extend the market to 2 p.m. instead of 1 p.m. in July and August.   We have worked at getting the word out and still the market is almost empty between 1 and 2 p.m.

This has been an experiment to see if the extended hour, especially in the summer months, will allow more of our community members to shop and enjoy the market.  We are halfway through the experiment and so far we do not see that the community wants to support an extended hour market.

We would love to have more of our community members enjoy this wonderful asset to Poulsbo.  We have heard comments about what a great market Poulsbo has, with some even saying it is better than Olympia’s!  We have a wide variety of meats, veggies, fruit, breads and pastries, cheese and much more.  And not only that, but you can talk with the person who is growing your food and ask any questions without a middleman.

So, come on down and spend your wonderful summer Saturdays at the market. You can sleep in, come and eat brunch or lunch and still have time to get your weekly food shopping in, and maybe try something new or enjoy the best ice cream ever.

On behalf of the wonderful vendors, the board, the volunteers and managers,  “We hope to see you at the market!”
