Community rallied around grandparents

My grandparents moved to Kitsap County in 2003. Recently, my grandmother fell and shattered her elbow. Not knowing how else I could help, I reached out to the community via several local churches, seeing if anyone could assist in bringing meals to them a couple of days a week until she was healed enough to begin cooking again.

Dear people of Kitsap County,

I grew up in Kingston and graduated from North Kitsap High School. I moved away in 2000 for university and stayed in the Seattle area.

The community has stepped up and rallied around my grandparents without ever having met them. I am so grateful to St. Olaf’s Parish’s membership and Bayside Community Church’s membership for helping out my grandparents. It further confirms why I am proud to call Kitsap County my home, even though I have not lived there in 13 years.

And I am forever in your debt.
