Dental duo set up shop in Silverdale

Dr. Lyle Beck and Dr. Steve Haws became fast friends at dental school.

Dr. Lyle Beck and Dr. Steve Haws became fast friends at dental school.

Years later, the duo started their very own practice in Silverdale.

Clear Creek Dentistry opened Aug. 18 on Myhre Road in Silverdale. The general dentistry practice offers an array of services and procedures for patients of all ages.

“We do a wide variety of procedures. We offer just about every aspect of general dentistry,” Beck said.

Beck and Haws attended the University of Iowa’s dental school together, then Beck went to the University of Washington for a residency and Haws spent a few years in the Air Force.

Beck took a job at the Silverdale Dental Center in Old Town Silverdale and shortly afterwards, Haws moved to the area and joined the Silverdale Dental team too.

Beck and Haws decided they wanted to open their own dental practice and bought the patch of land next to Silverdale Fitness on Myhre Road.

“We broke ground November 2007, but we had plans for close to a year probably,” Beck said.

When looking for a location for their dental practice, Beck and Haws said they knew they wanted to stay in Silverdale because many of their Silverdale Dental Center patients reside in or around the area and would follow them to Clear Creek Dentistry.

“We pretty much knew we wanted to stay in Silverdale,” Beck said. “Our patients are in this area.”

Clear Creek Dentistry is on the second floor of the two-story building and includes eight patient rooms, six of which are currently up and running. Clear Creek Dentistry also has a consultation room and state-of-the art sterilization room to ensure all dental equipment is properly sterilized and safe to use.

“We have all the latest and greatest toys,” Beck said.

Beck and Haws use lower radiation digital X-rays, intraoral cameras and electric hand pieces while working with patients.

“Our charting is completely computerized too, which is nice,” Beck said.

“We got the state-of-the-art facility with an exceptional team of dental professionals,” Haws added.

Beck and Haws work with three dental hygienists, Debbie Portrey, Kristin Cook and Loretta Heim.

“They’re excellent, they do a great job,” Beck said. “I feel like we’re surrounded by very talented people.”

Haws said their patients love the Clear Creek Dentistry facility and he and Beck enjoy working in the new building as well.

“It’s a joy to come to work and see our patients,” Haws said.

“It’s fun to come to work everyday,” Beck added.

Beck and Haws are currently looking for a first-floor tenant to reside in the Clear Creek Dentistry building. For more information on leasing the 2,800-square-foot space, contact Clear Creek Dentistry at (360) 692-6332.

Clear Creek Dentistry will host an open house complete with refreshments and tours of the facility from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24. There will be a prize giveaway, including a trip to a bed and breakfast, as well as various raffles. One raffle prize is a free teeth bleaching at Clear Creek Dentistry. The public is invited to attend and no RSVP is required.
