With Bright Whites and Painted Ladies fluttering about, Roxanne Moye carefully opened the door to the butterfly habitat Monday morning trying not to let the elusive creatures escape.

Three Dog Night to headline Kitsap County Fair

Grand Funk Railroad may have drawn a huge crowd to last year’s Kitsap County Fair & Stampede, but Fair and Special Events Manager Frank Abbott predicts this year’s entertainment lineup will cause even more of a buzz. Three Dog Night will take center stage at this year’s Kitsap County Fair & Stampede in August. Canadian country band Emerson Drive also will take to the stage. Both acts are sponsored by GEICO.

Tracee Dunn sat in a hotel room in Louisiana while Hurricane Ike battered the region in early September. The American Red Cross volunteer was one of 19 people from the Red Cross West Sound Chapter to travel to the region after Hurricane Gustav hit in September. Shortly after that, Hurricane Ike battered the already-ravaged region.
