North Kitsap girls soccer, volleyball teams place second at districts, head to state | Playoffs

The North Kitsap girls soccer and volleyball teams placed second at districts and advance to state.

The Kingston volleyball team narrowly lost a state berth in a 3-1 loss to Sequim.

Here’s the latest playoff schedule as of Nov. 10.

FOOTBALL
North Kitsap faces River Ridge at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at South Sound Stadium in Lacey in the first round of the WIAA 2A State Football Championships.

GIRLS SOCCER
North Kitsap
lost to Liberty 3-1 to place second in the West Central District 3/SeaKing District 2 Girls Soccer Tournament, Nov. 7 at North Kitsap.

The Vikings shut out Highline 6-0 two days earlier to advance to the championship round.

Next: The Vikings host Shorecrest in the first round of the 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in the WIAA 2A State Girls Soccer Tournament.

VOLLEYBALL
North Kitsap
lost to White River 3-2 to finish second in the West Central District 3/SeaKing District 2 2A Volleyball Tournament, Nov. 7.

North Kitsap was edged out by White River 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 16-14. The loss followed a 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce, 3-1 win over Steilacoom, and a 3-0 win over Orting. Next: The Vikings face Anacortes 9 a.m. Nov. 13 in the first round of the WIAA 2A State Volleyball Tournament at St. Martin’s University in Lacey.

Kingston’s state playoff hopes ended in a 3-1 loss to Sequim Nov. 7. The Bucs began their postseason journey with a 3-0 win over Fife, followed by a 3-1 loss to Liberty, both on Nov. 6. The Bucs pumped life into their playoff hopes the next day, with a 3-1 win over Orting and a chance at fifth place and a berth at state. Kingston lost to Sequim later that day 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23.
