BASEBALL

Kingston edges Olympic, 2-1

The Kingston High baseball team squeaked past Olympic High Tuesday, 2-1. The Buccaneers were down, 1-0, in the seventh inning when they mounted a comeback. With the bases loaded, Nick Torento came up and drove in two runs on a single to left-center field. Matt Ramstead got the win for Kingston, while Josh Herrera got the save.

TENNIS

Kingston defeats North Mason, 7-0

The Kingston High girls tennis team defeated North Mason High Tuesday, 7-0. The Buccaneers improved to 3-0 on the season with the win.

Singles: Olivia Guevara (K) def. Anna Gower (NM) 6-2, 6-3. Corinne Sudduth (K) def. Misha Orchard (NM) 6-0, 6-0. Austen Turner (K) def. Tiffany Nelson (NM) 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles: Maddi Miller/Lindsey Wicklein (K) def. Ashley Rowland/Lacey Schauberger (NM). Ericka Daniels/Stephanie Fyfe (K) def. Zhara Hess/Karissa Weber (NM) 6-2, 6-2. Anna Rushmer/Andrea Fladgard (K) def. Holly Bean/Emma Urdahl (NM) 6-3, 6-1. Marilyn Fick/Charlotte Kilborn (K) def. Katrina Martin/Lexi Zevnick (NM) 6-1, 6-1.

FASTPITCH

Kingston falls to Olympic High

The Kingston High fastpitch team fell to Olympic High Tuesday, 6-5. Jessica Klump’s home run in the bottom of the sixth sparked a four-run inning for the Trojans, giving them a one-run lead that the Buccaneers couldn’t overcome. Stacie Longmire got the win for the Trojans and drove in the winning run with a two-run double. Katie Lomas was credited with the loss for Kingston.
