Wolves close out regular season with loss

Mallory Horch had four kills and Brittany Stepper added eight assists, but South Kitsap lost its regular-season finale 25-11, 25-19, 25-11 on Monday against Bellarmine Prep in Narrows League play.

Angela Romonsky also had 10 digs along with Karinne Nelson’s three aces for the Wolves (5-10 overall, 4-8 league).

South, which next plays in the Narrows League Tournament, won its previous match Oct. 22 against Foss. Horch had 11 kills as the Wolves won 25-11, 19-25, 25-16 and 25-19. Megan Ransier had 16 assists in that match, while Stepper added 11 more. Romonsky also had five aces.

Signups available for basketball

South Kitsap Peewees are offering signups for the upcoming basketball season for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 years old.

Registration runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at 1025 Tacoma Ave. in Port Orchard. Registration is $80 with $50 due for a uniform deposit immediately. Prospective players also should bring their birth certificates to the signup.
