Since the Bremerton swimming pool is being repaired, the swim scheduling has bounced teams elsewhere. So, the North Kitsap Vikings and Kingston Buccaneers teams hosted Bremerton Dec. 13.
Although all three teams swam at the same time, each team faced the other two separately. The Vikings went 2-0, defeating Bremerton 126-48 and Kingston 121-62, while Kingston defeated Bremerton 106-63.
NK’s Justin Anderson, Max Nolan, Levi McClain and Henry Maxwell won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1 minute, 49.55 seconds. Kingston’s Tucker Riffle, Tyler Chamberlain, Josh VanHuis and Noah Simontov finished second in 2:03.18 while Bremerton’s Jaxon Anderson, Ibai Robinson, Reece Patti and Alex Rempler finished third in 2:17.03.
Viking Andrew Gyllensten finished first in the 200 freestyle in 2:05.65, and teammate Conner Parrett finished third in 2:33.36. Buc Isaiah Najar finished second in 2:17.91.
The Vikings then swept the 200-individual medley. Maxwell placed first in 2:19.96, Nolan second in 2:26.39 and Judson Wallace third in 2:42.05.
McClain won the 50 free in 23.57 seconds with Patti second in 25.82 and Viking James Mayou third in 27.22.
Viking Rydley Strong won the 1-meter diving with 113.70 points while Justin Anderson finished right behind with 113.35. Buc Jude Hamilton placed third with 76.30.
Maxwell finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.12, Gyllensten finished second in 1:02.86 and VanHuis third in 1:04.30.
Nolan easily won the 100 free in 56.43 seconds, Asher Lesco placed second in 1:08.12 and Hamilton third in 1:15.26.
McClain won his third event in the 500 free with a time of 5:18.86. Najar and Chamberlain finished second and third with times of 6:24.34 and 6:47.72.
Anderson, Maxwell, Nolan and McClain won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:39.59. Vikings’ Evan Silcott, Wallace, Lesco and Gyllensten finished second in 1:54.50. VanHuis, Rowan Evans, Riffle and Najar finished third in 1:58.23.
Anderson barely defeated VanHuis in the 100 backstroke with times of 1:03.91 and 1:04.23. Silcott was way back in third in 1:16.45.
Mayou won the 100 breaststroke in 1:27.27, Parrett finished second in 1:34.03 and Robinson third in 1:33.32.
In the 400 freestyle relay, Simontov, Hamilton, Najar and Chamberlain won in 4:32.70. Gyllensten, Alex Braun, Wallace and Parrett finished second in 4:35.07. Knights’ Anthony Neel, Steve McIntyre, Taylor Messler and Danny Butler were more than a minute behind in third with a time of 5:37.18.
