A two-vehicle collision Feb. 5 that involved a power pole being hit near the intersection of Highway 104 and Bond Road in North Kitsap closed the roadway to all traffic for most of the day, per Washington State Patrol.
The roadway is now open, Trooper Katherine Weatherwax posted on her X account.
A WSP memo says a 2004 GMC Sierra driven by a 24-year-old Kingston man was southbound on Bond Road near Minder Road when a semi truck on the southbound shoulder attempted to make a left turn on Minder Road. The GMC Sierra then attempted to pass and collided with the semi truck, before rolling and landing on its side in a nearby driveway, while the semi came to rest in the southbound lane. A Department of Transportation sign and a power pole were also struck in the accident. The power pole snapped and was leaning over the roadway, the memo states.
No injuries were reported in the collision. The driver of the GMC Sierra is facing a charge of improper passing, per WSP.
