A full-sized dump truck and large shed were consumed by fire near Hansville Tuesday night, but firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to additional buildings or vehicles.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation, and officials at the Kitsap County Fire Marshal’s Office are looking for anyone with information about the incident, a North Kitsap Fire & Rescue news release says. There were no injuries.

NKF&R and Poulsbo Fire Department were called to a structure fire at Whitworth Excavating off of Ecology Road just before 11:40 p.m. Law enforcement smelled smoke, spotted the flames and called 911.

The first NKF&R unit arrived within five minutes and reported that the truck and a 20 foot by 20 foot shed were already fully involved in flames. Despite a locked gate, crews had water on the fire four minutes later.

Anyone with information is asked to call assistant fire marshal Tina Turner at 360-337-5777.
