The Suquamish Tribe opened its new seafood shop on Jan. 9 next to the Masi Shop on SR305.

The opening ceremony began at 10 a.m. with an open house offering fresh seafood appetizers followed by a traditional welcoming song and remarks from Tribal Chairman Leonard Forsman and a presentation by Suquamish Seafoods General Manager Tony Forsman.

At 11:30 a.m. the shop, which offers a wide range of fresh and frozen seafood was given traditional blessings and songs along with a ribbon-cutting.
