SOUTH KITSAP — A fully engulfed vehicle fire in front of the Shell Food Mart at the intersection of Mile Hill Road and Woods Road SE in South Kitsap was quickly doused by a South Kitsap Fire and Rescue crew Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The vehicle, owned by the Navy Region Northwest Police, was unoccupied and no injuries resulted from the fire. When SKFR fire engines arrived at about 9:15 a.m., flames were pouring out from the engine well.

An SKFR firefighter said the cause of the fire is unknown. The Shell Food Mart was evacuated by SKFR while the crew extinguished the fire.
