Families had a chance to get involved with free, interactive, hands-on science activities on Saturday at the Kitsap Mall.

The event, titled West Sound STEM Showcase, focused on science, technology and math activities and information to be shared with youth.

Children worked on robotics, rockets, bridge building, egg drops, catapult challenges and more throughout the day. Booths stretched from one end of the mall to the other, allowing children to get involved in any activity that interested them.

In its second year, the showcase allowed students from elementary through high school grades to participate.
