Kingston woman charged with check forgery

Mary E. Arnold, 25, of Kingston, is charged in Kitsap County District Court with forgery.

On July 17, the Bank of America branch on Silverdale Way reported a check forgery incident. Arnold had attempted to cash a check made out to her name for $30, but had been altered to read $130. The $30 amount was confirmed with the person who wrote the check.

In the course of investigating, deputies found Arnold had a third-degree theft warrant from a shoplifting incident in 2011.

Arnold was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $2,500 bail.
