Viking Fest brings out competitive spirit

POULSBO — Crowds lined up along the sidewalks of Front Street in Poulsbo to cheer on the participants of the 5-mile and 1-mile runs during the 36th annual Viking Fest Road Race May 18.
The road races, sponsored by Poulsbo’s Parks and Recreation Department, began near Lions Park and finished on Front Street. The road race was the first of the contests during the 45th Viking Fest. Other competitive contests included the Stand-Up Paddleboard Race, and oyster- and lutefisk-eating contests.
