POULSBO — A fire contained to a garbage can in a boys bathroom at Poulsbo Elementary School forced students and staff to evacuate May 21.

Poulsbo Fire crews were dispatched at 3:26 p.m., just as school was getting out — school buses were already arriving as Poulsbo Fire crews responded.

The cause of the fire was not known Tuesday, Poulsbo Fire spokeswoman Jody Matson said.

There were no injuries, Matson said.

The bathroom is located in the main building. The smoke from the fire tripped the fire alarm, Matson said.
